Your City of Boston Credit Union Debit Card is a hassle free way of making purchases wherever the MasterCard® symbol is displayed. Funds are automatically deducted from your checking account. Keep track of your purchases in your check register, plus you will receive an itemized record of your debit transactions on your monthly statement or you can view recent transactions through your City of Boston Credit Union Online Banking account. Your City of Boston Credit Union Debit Card combines 24-hour access to your money with the purchasing power of MasterCard.

MasterCard SecureCode
MasterCard SecureCode is an extra security feature to your MasterCard Debit Card that protects your card against unauthorized use when you shop online at participating retailers.
Foreign Travel
Important: before traveling to a foreign country call the Credit Union during regular business hours at 617-635-3899 to be sure no country specific restrictions apply to your card. If you are a registered City of Boston Credit Union Home Banking user you may also log into your account and notify us of your travel plans.
For MasterCard® Debit Cards: During regular business hours please call 617-635-3899 or during non-business hours call 800-992-3808. If you are a registered City of Boston Credit Union Home Banking user you may also notify us of your travel plans by logging into your home banking account, go to Banking Services under My Profile, then select Travel Notification & Other Forms and click on the Travel Notification form. You will then be asked to securely submit information about your card and travel plans. Please note Travel Notification requests are not fulfilled immediately, if you submit your request on a weekend day or holiday your request will be fulfilled the next CBCU business day
For Visa® Credit Cards: During regular business hours please call 617-635-4545 before traveling. Home Banking users may also notify us of their travel plans via their home banking account, which can be found in the Service Center after logging into your City of Boston Credit Union Online Banking account.
ATM Card
A City of Boston Credit Union ATM Card allows access to your Credit Union accounts for cash withdrawals and transfers at ATM machines. You can access your Share Deposit Account, Money Market Account, or NOW Checking Account. Members are allowed Free ATM transactions with direct deposit of their paycheck into a City of Boston Credit Union Checking account.*
With Direct Deposit: Free ATM withdrawals at all City of Boston Credit Union ATMs and surcharge-free SUM Program ATMs with direct deposit of your payroll check into a City of Boston Credit Union Account. When you use an ATM not owned by us or outside of the SUM Program, you may be charged a fee by the ATM operator or any network used (and you may be charged a fee for a balance inquiry even if you do not complete a fund transfer.)
Without Direct Deposit: Without direct deposit of payroll check into a City of Boston Credit Union Checking Account your first 5 ATM transactions per month are free at a City of Boston Credit Union ATM or a surcharge-free SUM Program ATM, thereafter you will be charged $1.00 per transaction by City of Boston Credit Union. When you use an ATM not owned by us, you may be charged a fee by the ATM operator or any network used (and you may be charged a fee for a balance inquiry even if you do not complete a fund transfer.)

SUM Surcharge-Free ATMs
City of Boston Credit Union is a participant in the SUM Surcharge-Free Program. This allows members with direct deposit of their payroll check into their City of Boston Credit Union Checking Account to make withdrawals at SUM Program ATMs surcharge-free. This is an automatic benefit, no need to register or carry an additional card. For a complete list of SUM Program ATMs click the SUM ATM link below. Debit/ATM Card Fraud
If you are a City of Boston Credit Union Debit/ATM Card holder and suspect fraudulent activity on your account, you should contact us immediately.
