Online Membership Application
- You can become a member online!
- You will need a valid government issued ID.
- Your Social Security Number / Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.
- A minimum $5.00 deposit will be required to open your new membership.
- If funding your new accounts by electronic transfer from another financial institution, you’ll need their routing number and your account number.
- If funding with a debit or credit card, you’ll need the card number, expiration date, and CVV code.

Join Through the Mail
- Complete, print, and sign a Membership Application Form.
- Make a copy of your driver’s license, a copy of your Social Security Card, and a payroll stub.
- Write a $5 check, made payable to City of Boston Credit Union, or complete a payroll deduction authorization form.
- Mail all documents to 455 West Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127.

Apply In-Branch
Join City of Boston Credit Union at any one of our branches. Here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
- You will need a valid government issued ID.
- Your Social Security Number / Individual Taxpayer Identification Number.
- A minimum of $5 cash or check, payable to City of Boston Credit Union.
- If funding your new accounts by electronic transfer from another financial institution, you’ll need their routing number and your account number.
- If applying for a consumer loan, you’ll need loan information like income, employment and auto loan details.

US Patriot Act Disclosure
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal Law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account at City of Boston Credit Union, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
We will grant conditional membership, prime share only, until inquiries with any Consumer Reporting Agency are completed. If City of Boston Credit Union is unable to satisfactorily resolve any identification discrepancies your account will be closed.
